If you’ve ever dreamed of spending your lunch break talking about strategic budgeting (instead of, say, eating a sandwich in peace), well… Jackson’s got you covered.
On Wednesday, September 24, at high noon, Mayor Arne Jorgensen and Councilor Devon Viehman will be hosting another installment of Chat with Council — the Town’s ongoing experiment in seeing how many residents will voluntarily walk into a conversation about municipal spreadsheets.
What’s on the Menu?
- Topic: Strategic Budgeting (translation: where your tax dollars go, and why the potholes on your street still look like craters on the moon).
- Format: An informal “chat” — meaning you can bring questions, vent about priorities, or just watch two elected officials attempt to make line-item allocations sound exciting.
- Where: Town Hall (for the brave souls who want to attend in person) or via Zoom (for those who prefer to hide behind the safety of a mute button).
Important Fine Print
- These chats are not recorded, so if you deliver a legendary one-liner about snowplow spending priorities, it will live only in the memories of those present.
- If you actually want your thoughts enshrined in the official public record, you’ll still need to email Town Council. Yes, email. Because nothing says “strategic” like an overflowing inbox.
So mark your calendars, folks. It’s an open mic with your mayor and council, and unlike karaoke night at the Virginian, this one doesn’t come with whiskey shots.
