Yellowstone Welcomes Nearly 1 Million Visitors in June - Up 1% YoY

If it felt like everyone and their Aunt Carol was in Yellowstone last month, you’re not far off. The park welcomed 928,250 recreation visits in June 2025, up just a smidge (1%) from the same time last year. That’s a lot of people politely jostling for a shot of Old Faithful.

While we’re not quite back to the record-breaking numbers of 2021, when more than 4.8 million folks came to Yellowstone (because we all went a little too hard post-lockdown), 2025 is holding its own. So far this year, the park has logged 1,690,922 visits, up 4% from 2024 and 6% from the same stretch in 2021. Momentum? Very much intact.

Here’s the midyear rundown of Yellowstone’s people parade:

2023: 1,492,843
2022: 1,258,834 (floods shut the park down for over a week, remember that?)
2021: 1,587,998
2020: 719,054 (ah yes, “closed for COVID”—the ultimate plot twist)
