Vice President Vance Set To Visit Jackson as RNC Preps for ’26 Midterms

Date:

Heads up, Jackson, Vice President JD Vance is scheduled to visit on July 29 for a private Republican National Committee dinner hosted by Karen and Jay Kemmerer. President Trump had a very successful trip to Jackson last August, so it is no surprise that JD Vance is making an early fundraising stop in our town.

Presumably, this visit is about laying the groundwork for the 2026 midterms, and the Mountain West is clearly on the GOP radar.

While most national media will miss the signal here, the Vice President’s stop in Jackson suggests a broader strategy: Engage affluent conservatives, strengthen ties in swingy Western enclaves, and energize donors in areas often written off as “deep blue” due to the headlines of legacy news outlets.

We’ll be following the visit closely to see what kind of message VP Vance brings to a region grappling with housing costs, land use debates, and federal oversight, all issues where local and national politics collide.

Will Jackson roll out the red carpet? Or the protest signs? We’ll find out soon enough.
