Jackson Hole Grocery Delivery: What You Need to Know Before You Visit

Date:

The Fridge Is Stocked and the S’mores Are Ready—Thanks to This Jackson Local

If you’ve ever walked into your Jackson Hole rental after a long day of travel and found the fridge fully stocked, snacks laid out, and cold drinks waiting, there’s a good chance Sarah Dropinski was behind the magic.

Sarah is the founder of JacksonHoleGroceryDelivery.com, a locally owned business that’s taken the stress out of vacation logistics for thousands of visitors (including me). She once tracked down a dairy-free birthday cake for my wife on very short notice. I caught up with Sarah for a fun and thoughtful Q&A to learn more about her story, how the service works, and what’s next for this homegrown gem.

From Bike Ride to Business Idea

Q: How did Jackson Hole Grocery Delivery get started?
Sarah: The idea first came to me in 2020. My husband and I were out on a mountain bike ride, tossing around different business ideas. It was the summer of the pandemic, and everything had slowed down, so I felt like I had the time to dream about the future. Jackson is such a destination for adventure and activity, but for many visitors, the most meaningful part of a vacation is the time spent together. I loved the idea that pre-arrival grocery delivery could help people make the most of their time here, less time shopping, more time making memories.

What Makes It Different?

Q: What makes your service different from big-name delivery apps or store pick-up?
Sarah: We offer pre-arrival delivery, thanks to relationships with local property managers and hotels. That means your groceries are unpacked and waiting when you arrive, no scrambling to meet a driver or adjusting pickup times if your flight’s delayed. As a small local business, we also offer thoughtful communication and personalized service that big delivery platforms just can’t replicate.

Yes, She’s Delivered 20 Bags of Epsom Salt

Q: Most memorable grocery request you’ve ever had?
Sarah: I once delivered 20 bags of Epsom salts, some bottled water, and one bunch of bananas. And that was it. Not your typical order, but we made it happen!

Local Roots, Big Reach

Q: Where do you shop, and do you try to support local?
Sarah: We do the majority of our shopping at Smith’s, especially during peak season when we have multiple orders to fulfill in a day. We’ve built great relationships with the team there. Between Smith’s, Albertsons, and Whole Foods, we can satisfy most lists, but we’re always happy to go the extra mile. I’ve delivered everything from specialty birthday cakes to floral arrangements and balloon displays!

Behind the Scenes of a Delivery Day

Q: How do you manage things during the busy season?
Sarah: It’s all about timing and planning. Groceries need to be delivered after housekeeping finishes but before the guest arrives. I use a platform called Prept that helps manage orders, lists, and delivery details. During peak season, I plan everything out the night before and often rely on extra hands. It’s a challenge, but a fun one.

S’mores Kits and Family Favorites

Q: Any items that are always a hit with visiting families?
Sarah: Our S’mores Kit is a big favorite, especially in the summer. There’s nothing like a backyard fire pit and marshmallows to kick off a Jackson vacation. We’ve created curated grocery packages to help guests build their lists faster with vacation-ready staples.

When She’s Not Grocery Shopping…

Q: What do you do for fun around Jackson Hole?
Sarah: I love hiking and backpacking! You’ll often find me on Josie’s Ridge, and I try to get out for a few unplugged backpacking trips each summer. It’s a mental reset and such a special part of living here.

Why Grocery Delivery Matters

Q: For first-time visitors, what’s the benefit of grocery delivery?
Sarah: It changes the tone of your arrival. Instead of navigating a crowded grocery store after a long flight, you walk in and everything’s ready—drinks, snacks, breakfast. It’s especially great for families or late arrivals. Grocery delivery gives you more time to relax, spend time with loved ones, and just enjoy Jackson.

Plan Ahead, Please!

Q: One thing you wish more people knew?
Sarah: Place your order in advance! We don’t have the staffing or infrastructure of big-city services, so while we do our best with last-minute requests, having lead time really helps, especially during busy months.

Local Collabs on the Horizon?

Q: Have you thought about collaborating with other local food businesses?
Sarah: We already feature some local favorites like Snake River Roasting Co., Bovine & Swine, Cream + Sugar, and Kate’s Real Food. I love supporting other small businesses. As I grow Jackson Hole Grocery Delivery, partnerships with local chefs, producers, and creators are absolutely something I want to explore. Whether it’s curated add-ons, gift baskets, or promo codes from fellow local services, I think there’s so much potential.

Coming Soon: A Branded Delivery Van Near You 🚐

Q: Anything new and exciting coming up?
Sarah: Keep an eye out for the new Jackson Hole Grocery Delivery van this summer! It’s already been a game changer, and we’re in the process of outfitting the back with shelving, coolers, and hooks to make deliveries even more efficient and fresh.

Whether you’re a regular visitor or a first-timer, Sarah’s service is the kind of local magic that makes your trip smoother and more memorable. And with more collaborations and expansion in the works, we expect to see a lot more brown paper bags and s’mores kits hitting doorsteps across the valley.
