Jackson Town Council Approves Revised Snow King Condo Plans

Date:

The Jackson Town Council has approved development plans for three Snow King condominium lots, 53, 57, and 58, clearing the way for the project to proceed to the next phase.

While plans for Lots 53 and 58 were unanimously approved as fitting the size and character of nearby Grand View Condominiums, the larger three-story building proposed for Lot 57 had faced significant opposition from neighbors and some council members due to concerns about its bulk, scale, and close proximity to existing buildings.

In response, the architect (Northworks) made design adjustments to Lot 57’s buildings. Changes included setting back upper facades, lowering stairway heights, switching to low-slope flat roofs, and reducing roof parapets to break up the building’s mass and improve sky visibility from the street.

Though the buildings were not physically moved back on the lot, town officials agreed the design revisions resulted in a better overall appearance consistent with the Snow King Master Plan, which allows for larger buildings higher up the mountain given the resort’s unique setting.

The development plans for Lots 53 and 58 passed unanimously, while a 4-1 vote approved the plan for Lot 57.

The Snow King condo project will now proceed with these updated plans, though concerns over neighborhood character and building scale remain part of the ongoing conversation.
