Jackson Hole Winter Weather Advisory: Up to 10 Inches of Snow, Gusts to 60 MPH

JACKSON, Wyo. — Buckle up, folks, winter’s clock just struck early. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Teton and Gros Ventre Mountains as well as the Absarokas, in effect from noon Sunday, Oct. 19, through noon Monday, Oct. 20.

The Forecast

Snow: 6 – 10 inches expected, mainly above 8,000 feet
Wind: Gusts up to 60 mph
Timing: Noon Sunday → Noon Monday

Those high peaks and passes are about to get a fresh coat of white, and travelers should brace for slick, slushy roads — especially over Teton and Togwotee Passes. Hunters, hikers, and anyone heading into the backcountry should expect deteriorating visibility and rapidly changing conditions.

Travel Impact

Plan on slippery mountain roads and limited visibility, particularly Sunday night. WYDOT reminds drivers to slow down, increase following distance, and avoid unnecessary travel if conditions worsen.
