If you’ve ever grumbled about the lack of charging stations in Jackson, or want to know what all the EV buzz is about, mark your calendar for Thursday, May 29.
The Town of Jackson and Yellowstone-Teton Clean Cities are hosting an Electric Vehicle Info Session from 5:30–7:00 p.m. at The Virginian to discuss current infrastructure and roll out the plans for new regional EV charging stations. Think of it as your chance to help shape the future of sustainable transportation in the Tetons, and maybe even score a mocktail while you’re at it.
🚘 What’s on the Agenda?
- A look at new EV charging stations coming to the region, thanks to a federal Community Fueling and Infrastructure Grant.
- A public forum on proposed charging station fees, yes, you can weigh in before they plug that in.
- A sidewalk-style EV showcase where local drivers will have their own vehicles on display, ready to talk shop about what it’s actually like to drive electric in the wilds of Wyoming.
While it’s hard to talk about EVs without the specter of Elon Musk entering the room, this event isn’t about ideology, it’s about infrastructure. And as Yellowstone-Teton Clean Cities Executive Director Alicia Cox puts it:
“We’re very fortunate to have some of the cleanest and cheapest electricity in the U.S.—this makes Teton County one of the best places to fully realize the many benefits of EVs.”
🌿 Sustainability by the numbers:
The Town of Jackson has saved over $3 million in energy costs and dodged more than 4,000 tons of CO2 emissions since it began its sustainability push in 2006. This EV expansion is just the latest step in that journey.
🚗 Got an EV? Show it off.
