Nashville Supergroup Wood Box Heroes to Make Jackson Hole Debut at Silver Dollar Showroom

Date:

JACKSON, WY – The legendary Silver Dollar Showroom is kicking off its 2026 “Showroom Sessions” with a powerhouse performance that promises to be a masterclass in American acoustic music. On Thursday, March 12, the Wood Box Heroes will take the stage for their highly anticipated Jackson Hole debut.

For local music fans, this isn’t just another bluegrass gig. The Wood Box Heroes are a certified “supergroup,” bringing together five of Nashville’s most decorated session players and songwriters. Between them, the members boast over 50 industry awards, including a staggering 15 Grammys and multiple CMA Musician of the Year trophies.

Meet the Heroes

The ensemble is fronted by the “vocal magic” of Jenee Fleenor and Josh Martin. Fleenor is a trailblazer in the industry, notably the first woman to ever win the CMA Musician of the Year award—a title she has now held five times. Her fiddle and vocals have been heard on hits by everyone from Blake Shelton to Jon Pardi. Co-frontman Josh Martin, an Eastern Kentucky native, brings a soulful baritone and world-class guitar flatpicking that bridges the gap between Appalachian tradition and modern country.

Rounding out this acoustic powerhouse are:

  • Barry Bales (Bass): A 15-time Grammy winner and long-time member of Alison Krauss & Union Station.
  • Matt Menefee (Banjo): A virtuoso who has toured with Mumford & Sons and Béla Fleck.
  • Seth Taylor (Mandolin): A sought-after picker known for his work with Mountain Heart and Dailey & Vincent.

An Eclectic Acoustic Sound

While deeply rooted in bluegrass, the Wood Box Heroes refuse to be boxed in by a single genre. Their sound is a sophisticated “melting pot” of country, blues, jazz, and rock, all delivered with the precision of Nashville’s finest session players. Their 2024 debut album, 444, has already garnered critical acclaim for its “piercing” listening experience and authentic songwriting.

The Showroom Session Experience

The Silver Dollar Showroom Sessions are designed to offer a more intimate, “listening room” environment than a standard bar gig. These ticketed events include a wine reception and a meet-and-greet with the artists, followed by a curated set dinner menu and the main performance. It’s a rare opportunity to hear the stories behind the songs and witness world-class musicianship in one of Jackson’s most historic venues.

Event Details:
