From Ski Bums to Legends: Live Music Heats Up at the Mangy Moose

Summer and fall at the Mangy Moose are anything but quiet, especially with this stacked lineup of concerts coming to one of Jackson Hole’s most legendary venues. From jam band chaos with Andy Frasco to the bluegrass-fueled harmonies of The Wilder Blue, the Moose is serving up a crowd-pleasing mix of genres to carry you through mud season and into the golden hues of autumn.

But before you rock out, a little history…

A Moose With a Wild Past

The Mangy Moose opened its doors in 1967 at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Originally dreamed up as a locals-first après-ski watering hole, it quickly became a legendary après destination thanks to its quirky character, irreverent vibe, and iconic taxidermy-adorned dining room. The venue has hosted everyone from bluegrass pickers and reggae icons to late-night DJs and major touring acts. It’s where ski stories get bigger, drinks flow faster, and the music never really stops.

Today, the Mangy Moose is equal parts bar, grill, and concert venue, a fixture in Teton Village with just the right amount of attitude. Whether you’re grabbing an elk burger after hitting the slopes or dancing until midnight, the Moose is the place where mountain town magic happens.
