Jackson Hole Airport Traffic Climbs High, Year-Over-Year Numbers Soar

Date:

After May’s head-turning spike in air traffic at Jackson Hole Airport, June kept the momentum going, though with a gentler climb.

According to the latest numbers, 66,563 passengers boarded flights (enplaned) in June, up 15.8% from the same month last year. 72,761 passengers deplaned, a 16.43% year-over-year jump. That’s on top of the already strong May numbers, when enplanements shot up more than 21% compared to May 2024.

Month-over-Month Snapshot

Compared to May’s total of 63,889 enplanements, June saw about 4.2% more departing passengers. A healthy gain, but not quite the double-digit leap we saw a month earlier. Deplanements followed a similar pattern, with June seeing a roughly 3.6% increase from May.

Aircraft activity also ticked higher. June logged 710 takeoffs, up 23.69% from June 2024, and about 2% more than May’s 696 departures.

Airline Standouts

  • American Airlines stole the spotlight again, boarding 20,659 passengers in June. A massive 45% increase year-over-year.
  • United Airlines remained the airport’s workhorse, carrying over 30,000 departing passengers and leading all carriers in total flights.
  • Alaska Airlines, while much smaller in volume, posted a notable 29% gain in enplanements from last June.

Big Picture

Year-to-date, Jackson Hole Airport has handled over 266,000 enplaned passengers, representing a 5.54% increase from the same period in 2024. The 2025 trend line shows steady, sustained growth after the winter lull, with summer travel season hitting its stride.

If May was the “sprint” into the busy season, June feels more like a steady, confident jog, still moving forward, still beating last year’s numbers, and keeping Jackson Hole’s gateway buzzing as we roll deeper into summer.
