May Sees Surge in Air Travel at Jackson Hole Airport- Delta and United Lead the Way

Travel through Jackson Hole Airport is flying higher, yet again. According to the latest May 2025 activity report, passenger traffic is up across the board, with notable increases in both enplanements and deplanements, as well as aircraft takeoffs.

📈 Passenger Growth

In May 2025, the airport recorded 32,102 enplaned passengers, marking a 15.18% increase compared to May 2024. Deplanements were also up, with 37,971 passengers arriving, a 12.91% bump year-over-year.

Here’s how the major airlines fared:

United: 16,043 enplaned (+15.2% YoY) | 19,273 deplaned
Delta: 9,910 enplaned (+22.2%) | 11,189 deplaned
American: 5,616 enplaned (+1.3%) | 6,949 deplaned
Alaska: 533 enplaned (+78.9%) | 560 deplaned

Year-to-date, enplanements are up 2.52% from 2024 totals, with 199,820 passengers boarded so far.

🛫 Aircraft Activity

Takeoffs reached 355 in May, an 11.29% increase from last year. United again led the way with 181 takeoffs, followed by Delta (106), American (57), and Alaska (11). Total takeoffs for the year are tracking at 2,335, up 8.76% from the same period in 2024.

✈️ Load Factor Snapshot

According to the year-to-date Load Factor Report:

The airport has seen 275,093 total available seats, with 199,820 enplaned passengers.
That translates to an average load factor of 72.64% — a solid performance given Jackson Hole’s unique seasonality and mix of aircraft types.

Delta continues to shine with high passenger-per-flight numbers on its Airbus 320 fleet (111 avg. enplanements/flight) and an 81%+ load factor across its operations. United is moving strong volumes on its 737-700s and regional ER7s, while Alaska is rebounding with higher load factors (64% in May) on its SkyWest-operated flights.
