Shoshone-Bannock Scholars to Speak on Treaty, Tribal Rights & Jackson’s Past

History hits home as the Jackson Hole History Museum welcomes two guest speakers from the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes, Nolan Brown and Bailey Dann, for a powerful conversation on the region’s Indigenous history.

Part of the museum’s “Western Scholars” series, the talk will explore the Fort Bridger Treaty of 1868 and its continued relevance to Jackson Hole today. Expect an engaging hour of insight into treaty rights, tribal perspectives, and the shared responsibilities of community and land stewardship. The talk is free and open to all, with doors opening at 6 p.m. on the museum’s outdoor deck (weather permitting).

Got kids Pre-K to 2nd grade with big curiosity and busy hands? Bring them to the Hands-on History series at the Jackson Hole History Museum! Every Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., your kiddos will enjoy a storytime focused on local history followed by a themed craft activity. It’s educational, a little messy, and totally fun.
