A new series on Antlers Arch will feature interviews with local business owners, influencers, and entrepreneurs, aiming to highlight the numerous talented and successful individuals in our community.
This week, we interviewed Alison Maxim, who recently received nominations for “Best Influencer” and “Best Dressed” in Jackson Hole. If you’re on Instagram, you’re likely familiar with her “Chic By Alison Rose” brand, as well as her images featured across local businesses and her widely recognized style.
My story is similar to so many other people who have moved to Jackson; once I arrived that very first time, I never wanted to leave. I immediately felt how special it was here and wanted that feeling every day of my life. The transition has been seamless and has been a beautiful journey. From the moment I stepped off the plane, everything aligned and began falling into place. That’s when you know you are meant to be exactly where you are. There was literally no resistance.
My personal style has always been a bit retro and bohemian mixed with modern elements. Honestly, my style fits in better in Jackson than where I am from in the northeast. What I love about the style in Jackson is you can be so free with your fashion choices. My personal style just fits better out here.
There is really kick ass sushi! Who knew. There are endless outdoor activities to do year-round. And when I say endless, I mean endless … there are literally no excuses to stay indoors. The creatives here are so original. I am constantly impressed by other people’s ideas and creations. In addition to that, the community is so supportive of each other. It’s very beautiful to witness and to be part of.
Most of my photos are taken outdoors by my dear friend and photographer, Eva Dabill. We are constantly scouting out new places to shoot, and they almost always involve a backdrop of the mountains.
Delta Lake. My friend, Kim, took me there for the first time last fall. It is a 2.5 hour hike up the mountain and when you arrive it just takes your breath away. I am eternally grateful to live in what I consider to be one of the most beautiful and pristine places on earth.
As I stated earlier, the community here is so supportive. I have had several collaborations with local brands that were so much fun. I never take it lightly when a brand asks me to partner with them, and I look forward to working with more of them in 2025.
I was surprised by how much music is in town and how many amazing musicians are here because of it. I love music and concerts, so this has been exciting for me. There is always a concert somewhere, both indoor and outdoor, and Jackson pulls some big musicians! One of my favorite venues is at the top of Snow King. I’m really looking forward to the concerts there this summer.
Well, I grew up in upstate NY, so the rugged outdoor life has always been part of who I am. I love that anything goes in Jackson, and keeping it casual is the norm. I am definitely getting my wear out of my collection of band tees, bell-bottoms, and flannels.
I have and they have all been wonderful experiences. I have worked with a few local brands (Penny Lane JH) as well as several local influencers, and each time they have not only welcomed me with open arms, but I have made lasting friendships in the process. One of my favorite things to witness in life is bonding with like-minded people and connecting on a level that is natural and synergistic. So much creativity rises to the surface and the project becomes so much better because of it.
The only advice I would give is go say GO FOR IT! It was the best decision of my life.
